    You can register online if ALL of the following apply:

    • Your child is NEW to PPS
    • Your students did NOT attend a PPS Pre-K locations: Boise-Eliot/Humboldt, Clarendon, Creston Annex, Dr. MLK Jr, Faubion, Grout, Jason Lee, Kelly, Marysville, Lent, Rosa Parks, Sacajawea, Sitton, Whitman, Woodlawn
    • Your student does NOT have an IFSP and did NOT receive services from Multnomah Early Childhood Program (MECP)
    • You are enrolling your child in your neighborhood school and NOT a CBO/Charter
    • You have an email address and access to a computer

    • Kindergarten Ramp Up

       

       

      Kindergarten Ramp Up supports the transition of each student into kindergarten. This takes place in two ways. First, each family is invited to a 20-minute 1:1 welcome conversation at Markham on August 26 & 27. We will reach out to you to get these scheduled through a sign-up process in early August.

      Second, each kindergartner is scheduled to attend school for a practice day on either Thursday, August 28 or Friday, August 29, from 8:00am-2:30pm (half the class attends at the same time). This provides students time in a smaller class setting to practice school routines, build their confidence and for us to get to know each other.

      We will assign students to a specific day to maximize individual support and learning. If it is possible for us to accommodate a date switch, we will do so. Please contact the main office if you have a unique situation that would be supported by a change in date. We will provide more details in early August. 

      All kindergarten students begin together on Tuesday, September 2!

Connect to Kindergarten Events

  • Markham will be having two Connect to Kindergarten Registration/Bubble Dance Parties!  This will be a time to register your child for kindergarten while they are being supervised at the Bubble Dance Party!
     
     Wed., April 23rd, 2025 early release Wednesday from 12:15- 1:15.
     
    Thursday, May 8th from 5:30-6:30.
